Heather and Ryan's Story...

This was a day like no other, a day specialising in friends, family, music, fun, food & dancing! I knew from meeting Ryan & Heather back when they booked in 2013 that this was going to be a day that I truly enjoyed... This is how it went...

My assistant Emily set off to visit the boys and I set off to see the ladies!

Although this family are a beautiful bunch (which I told them, repeatidly!) Sandra did an exceptional job with the make-up keeping Heather's natural beauty at the forefront! Making sure every eyelash was perfectly in place, I think Sandra Cormack really outdone herself here, and Heather a self proclaimed tomboy looked utterly beautiful! To see more of Sandra's work visit www.scmakeupartistry.co.uk! Then the hair, oh my god the hair! Jeff Thompson from Hair on Castle Street, Dundee did something so spectacular I don't even know how to compliment it, it was just soo beautiful. I always knew Jeff was talented after having my hair done by him before but like Sandra I think the work he done was just exceptional! Not that Heather is a difficult canvas though! Please visit this exceptional hair stylist! www.hairdressersdundee.com Also find them on Facebook!

I felt a bit emotional too watching Heather come down in such a spectacular dress, it couldn't have been more perfect! a detailed vintage number that just draped this beautiful lady in all the bling she needed!

This day was clearly soo much about family and friends, and keeping it small in Heather's uncle's back garden suited the pair of them to a 'T'! Smiles, jokes & laughing was a consistent theme throughout the day, never mind the blazing sunshine!

Without giving the game away for this little adorable wedding in Heather's uncles back garden here are a few images, that give you an little insight into the setting, surrounded by natural & fresh flowers, cool cars & plenty of booze! The ceremony was just as special as the two of them! With sunshine beaming down the guests sat in the beautiful garden as the two best pals said 'I do'! while washing it down with a symbolic cheeky quaker! A hilarious and special poem was written and read by a dear friend of Ryan and Heathers, I had to try and focus because I was laughing at the great words that were written about them!

The food! Wow! The catering company served up some amazing food Emily and I got the chance to sit down for a wee break & look over our images and fill our bellies! Laughing at a few funny ones from earlier in the day!

Can I please point out if anyone knows me they know how much I adore staffy dogs! When they told me Sky their staffy was going to be the ring bearer I nearly exploded with excitement! It was so special as Sky walked down the eye with the couple's ring attached to her lead and gave them such an important item she was amazing! A human being couldn't have done it any better!

After speeches and laughs it was time to party! And that they did, again this was even more special as the band playing was my partner's band, so not only did I get to do a really fun job, but I also got to do it by listening to my favourite music! If you aren't familiar you should be!
Visit www.facebook.com/Sinderinsband... as the sun went down the music carried on... there was not a glum face in the place, including myself!

Emily packed up after all her hard work and went home and not very often I do this but I finished up, got a wee juice and sat and listened to the rest of the music, with Mr & Mrs Scott!

I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog!
A big thank you to Mr & Mrs Scott & all the family and friends for being so friendly!
Emily for working so hard for me & all you guys for reading and sharing!

Peace & Love

Becci & Ronnie's story

Our journey started off at the Invercarse Hotel, where the bridal party were getting ready. They were great fun and were so organised we had beautiful shots in no time! The sun once again was beaming, beautiful light in the hotel windows.  Becci was looking jaw-droopingly lovely in a two piece wedding dressing that was simply stunning! The flowers were just my favourite! and look at the girls, just look at them!

We then dashed off to photograph the groom’s party who were a bit less organised than the ladies! This is where we met the adorable Mackie, who loved posing for the camera and we loved photographing him, who wouldn’t?

Mackie the littlest supermodel! We were all best friends before getting shot at with his water gun (no water in it though, thank god!)

Finally the main event had arrived, it was finally time for them to say I do! The ceremony was held in the Baxter Park Pavillion. The sun flooded in straight through the windows which made for beautiful photographs of a lovely ceremony full of laughter and smiles.

We then dashed off on our travels to meet everyone at Dil Se where the wedding meal was. Filled our bellies after the speeches, which were full of smiles which you can see from the photographs!

The next part of our journey took us to the West Park (we have toured Dundee) which is surprising-ly close to where it started! This is where the evening guests joined Becci and Ronnie to celebrate their special day (with beer and dancing mainly!). The dancing was great, especially from the DJ! Then we popped up our utterly ridiculous not safe for work Photo Booth! The guests loved pulling silly faces and wearing daft props.

Some big kids were embarrassed in the making of this Photo Booth!

Yes there were dancing en-expected dancing competitions ^

It was finally time for us to leave and get some much needed rest after a lovely wedding but before we did we got some final couple shots which were lovely outside on the grounds of West Park.
We had a lovely time photographing Becci and Ronnie’s beautiful wedding and met the friendliest people, you were all a pleasure to photograph. Becci and Ronnie, we wish you every happiness for your future together!

This is a teeny selection of the images from Becci & Ronnie's wedding, I could have went on and on choosing more, but the rest are for the happy newlyweds. I hope you have enjoyed this little insight into an amazing day! And thank you to my wonderful assistant Emilie Gray, who photographed, heavy lifted, drove, made sure I lost no marbles (:

The story of Charlotte & David Jardine...

The vintage-ness is in the air! I have pulled together some sneak peaks of the special day so if your impatient like I am, then here is the first peak!Obviously we have established I am the photographer with all the sunshine, so even though the weather man told us rain, I said no and stopped all the rain! ;) (well maybe it was more luck)

These beautiful ladies made up MOST of the world largest bridal party!

I do believe there was seven in total! Everything from the robes to flowers to the beautiful jewellery was right up my street... The Make-up artist at the house did a great job of charlotte's make-up keeping it nice an natural for the photos (thank you!)

Also my very good pal Jillian Elizibeth & Jill Sime done the make-up for a few of the beautiful bridesmaids...

As we rushed off to meet the boys at the venue Charlotte and her clan of bridesmaids finished up all their finishing touches and next step was to erm... get married!

I'm not going to lie I about buckled at all the beautiful hand-made signs when I got in, but like every wedding no time to gawp at all the beautiful things I can see it through the lens!

What an atmospheric setting for these pair! I know so many people worked so hard to put this together, and it was definitely showing! With no natural light in the venue (all lit with fairy lights candles and anything else that lights up) we wanted to keep that bright airy feeling, so thank you my wonderful assistant Jennifer Downie, keeping me on track and helping me tame this tricky lighting! Whom was also the eyes on the back of my head snapping things too!  I have been so lucky to land these pair of amazing clients, and a teeny bit of me is sad there day is over because I knew it was going to be as lovely as it was, but struck up a great bond with these guys, from our 'pre-wedding shoot' (see previous blogpost ) right through to typing up my nonsense on this blog!

The drunks 'dance affs' were about to take place with some dangerous ceilidh moves were about to eb busted... and as the barn filled with happy people past the point of wanting evidence of how drunk they were, we started to pack our bags and get ready to leave.

Thank you so Mr&Mrs Jardine & co. it's been awfully special! Can't wait to show you all your images!

And the story continues...

Once Upon a Time... Mr & Mrs Reid at Fernie Castle

Once Upon a Time...

Nothing could be closer to a real life fairytale more than Fernie Castle on the 25th of April 2015.
I was invited as a photographer to document this beautiful day! The day capture by myself and collaborating for the first time at a wedding my sister Jemma Diamond (who is also a photographer)
Here are a few story telling images from Mrs Jayne Reid & Mr Ryan Reid...

The Villian in this story was the expected rainfall, I had even packed a pair of wellies for the bride just incase, and she had got her and her bridal party some umbrellas! BUT alas The clouds parted and it shone the whole day! Jill Sime The amazing Fairy make-up artist made sure these girls were ready for a ball (yes another disney princess remark!) Click here for Jill Sime Make-up Artist

Jayne's beautiful dress made me think of a mermaid which couldn't be more suitable.

Nerves couldn't hide from Ryan's face as his nearest and dearest showed him how to put on his Kilt!

As professional as I try to be the lump in my throat would not leave as I watched Ryan look every time someone came down the isle, thinking is it his wife to be...

Vows that could only have been written by clearly two best friends! Everyone laughed and wiped tears from their eyes, mostly Robyn infact all the tears may have been from Robyn!

And then it was done, one big smooch and the deal was sealed (well after the paperwork of-course)

The rest of the story will be told very soon...

Charlotte & David...

Charlotte & David's Story...

Fate must bring my clients and I together, because these guys are just right up my street. I just love it. When Charlotte suggested a powder paint shoot I knew boom this is my kind of bride! Here is a little of how it went...

started out like any normal Pre-wedding shoot, but then...

At this point I would definitely say Charlotte was winning, but I believe David soon resorted to underhand tactics.

We knew we needed a good, day with minimal to no wind, which considering the howling during the night, I didn't expect much sunshine, but the clouds broke and for a one hour period the wind calmed & the sun shone. The last image to be taking on this afternoon commenced the first raindrop, within minutes after the shoot the rain & gail-force winds attacked us. you just wouldn't believe it, would you?

These are just a few of my favourite, it was so much fun & my glamorous assistant Jenni couldn't have done more! was just an all round great shoot and cannot wait until the wedding!!!

Thanks guys again!
