An unconventional day...

So I met Lee many years ago, long before I was a full time wedding snapper... I worked in a pub where three gentlemen would pop in for a tipple. These three may have been cheeky chappies but they were so lovely. So when Lee and Niamh asked me to photograph their 'wedding' I was really happy and was under no impression that it would anything but bonkers, mad, beautiful and fun!

I knew they were getting married in Ireland, so what I was photographing was actually a blessing, therefor they had all the wedding images you would usually receive, so I took this opportunity to photograph more of the atmosphere, I was excited for this challenge and considering their wedding images from Ireland were beautiful. I had a lot to live up to!

They day started, with family and bacon rolls! May I add Lee asked me ''would you like a cup of tea, I make the best cups of tea'' I obliged thinking, ''But do you really?'' I can say I started snapping this day with one of the best cups of tea in my tummy!

I adored that Lee got ready with his wife of slightly over a month, there was no hiding. Niamh and the bridesmaids even helped Lee get into his suit! I loved this. We photographed in the garden as everyone laughed and had a few drinks. I was excited as I knew there was a big surprise for the day, little did I know how wonderful and extravagant it would be!

A full piping band and hundreds of guests were eagerly awaiting them, live music was played in the amazing weather (may I add it was extra special as my fiancee Gavin was the musical entertainment along with Dave Webster) They went down amazingly with the enthusiastic Irish! Never-mind the amazing full carnival stalls and rides that adorned the beautiful countryside home.

From the get go, there was dancing, there was no conventional order to the day, which took me by surprise and usually I am queen of organisation, so it was strange and lovely to take time without having to rush for the usual deadlines of the day. Shortly after they had a beautiful blessing - simple, authentic and heartfelt.

Next a poor waiter fell over, I run over to photograph him ;) not thinking what guests may think of me photographing this poor man as he fell smashing to the ground about 100 knives and forks - BUT maybe I was in on a secret! Amazingly wild performance from the waiters. As everyone shrieked to help the waiter he gets up on the table and starts singing and dancing the whole place errupts, which naturally led to Lee and fellow men of his choosing to end up in there boxers on the dance floor, i'll let you fill in the blanks haha!

Dancing, singing, bands, food, carnival rides including my favourite the 'Miami' was there! It was a party to remember! Thank you both for having myself and Kirsty there, although we worked hard, they day was nothing but a joy and pleasure to be a part of! Have a wonderful life, and hope to see you both soon! I hope enjoy this selection of your images!

Back at Bachilton Barn...

Yayyy! I got to go back to Bachilton Barn, after such a wonderful experience with Sinead and David's wedding just a few weeks prior to Linzi & Richard's, I was especially excited! Everything from the staff being to warm and friendly to awesome outside catering and you know this was no different. Bachilton has shot up to the top of my recommended list!

The day started of with expectations of heavy showers - BUT what can I say I bring the sunshine ;)

Chrissie was assisting the day with me whom had done the wedding previous so maybe we were both feeling pretty confident in the morning. We arrived at Barrossa Apartments, where it was just a spectacular space for bridal prep, so spacious and tidy filled with beautiful people including little people too! Madison was a tiny flower girl (Linzi & Richards daughter) She was a star, she did some hilarious posing along with the cutest Chloe!

As you can see below Claire did a spectacular job at utterly perfect make-up! Claire's Facebook

Every detail was clearly meticulously thought out, from t-shirts in prep to the array of shades of bridesmaids dresses. I was excited to set of and see the how the venue was kitted out.

It's amazing how both weddings were amazingly detailed at Bachilton, both immensely beautiful, thought out but so completely different. I love that about this place. Couple get to make it their own in a perfect space, with dream lighting!

Linzi & Richard were just ideal clients so funny, chilled and just beautiful! I swear you could convince me that Linzi had been a super model in a past life! Nothing phased her! I loved how keen she was to go in the field even though she had super massive heels on, my kind of client ;) Although Richard did carry her back like a true gent again made for hilarious photos!

I'll let you look at some photos of their day... and will pop some more reading in the middle...

Okay, it's time to say I do, I actually felt nervous for them, everything was just so perfect. Would you like to know something cute? It was Linzi's grandad whom was marrying them! I know could this be anymore adorable?

The venue was adorned in personal touches, polaroids of their life together were use to decorate the space, I found myself reading and laughing at them throughout the day - It was a real insightinto the both of their lives!

As the day moved on, again Gourley catering treated myself and Chrissie like Queen's of Sheeba!

A day filled with happiness and fun! I feel this is quite apparent, also a big thank you to all the supporting roles like the groomsmen and bridesmaids also family for helping round people up for pictures, you all look great and myself and Chrissie had a blast snapping it all for you!

Lots of love,

S x

Ellis & Neil...

We were frolickin' in rainbow meadows... like, for real!

Rosie & Ally...

Hello welcome to a day of rain & love!

no confetti bombs, no massive guest list... just intimate and sweet!

Kara & Michael

Welcome to a day that combines my top THREE favourite places! Germany, Australia & Scotland!

The day started with stormy rain bouncing off the ground. Myself and Brian the second shooter and assistant for the day popped in the car and set off for the lengthy drive to the venue (Broxmouth Park) Click Here . The whole way there I was hoping for the sky to clear up for them - but no such luck!

Simon the owner quickly introduced himself and was such a great help (and laugh) ALL day! We were treated so well by the venue which always makes a day even better! as soon as I popped into the room where they were getting ready I was greeted with Kara's beautiful smile! It was such a relaxed feeling in the morning, hair and make-up was just perfect, thanks to Karen & Nicola at CityBrides, everyone was flawless! Also Broxmouth Park has so many spacious rooms for us to photograph the details in, it was a photographers dream!

The ceremony really tugged at my heartstrings! as soon as Kara came in the room tears were flowing and Michael looked like he'd just won the lottery 10 times over! I loved how emotional Kara was, it made for such emotive images! - The celebrant was Marion McGunnigle,  she made the handfasting cords , and the wicker box with the flowers on it, which Kara & michael loved, she great and it shows how thorough and dedicated she was. ''We looked for a long time for someone we could gel with and we felt was on the same page as us''  http://marionmcgunnigle.co.uk

Shortly after the ceremony a miracle happened! HELLO SUNSHINE! I was so grateful to the sun gods, as Broxmouth Park's ground really deserve to be explored! Which is exactly what we did. When Kara & Michael told me about the fresh garlic meadows, I really had no idea what to expect. It was one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen, we walked through the meadows grabbing subtle photos of the brand new - newly weds! I barely had to say a word they just looked at each other with so much love, it made for some of my favourite new wedding shots! -
All the bouquets, posies, flowers and vases were created by Kathrin at White House Flowers. kathrin was a recommendation by Simon at Broxmouth. The fate was sealed with kATHRIN WHEN kARA REALISED SHE WAS HALF GARMAN AND LOVED HORSES - aswell as her beautiful flower making skills of-course White house flowers

There was no first dance, instead a full dance floor of ballroom/ceilidh dancing... it was so much fun to photograph. At one point I was in the centre of the circle and unknown to me as I was snapping, the next move was for all the dancers to hold hands and to meet in the middle - It was like having a hug from an entire wedding party! Hahaha That will go in my funny wedding moments! The band was called The Unconventionals: Kara said ''I will never forget how I laughed when the caller told us to 'gie it laldy' haha'' , they clearly read the room very well! Find them here The unconventionals

Finally, To end the evening we ventured out for some final couple shots as it was getting darker. Myself and Brian absolutely loved every minute of it, and we are so glad you both clearly had an amazing day! thank you both for having us be a part of it and I really hope you and your guests enjoy this recap of your day at your images!

Love Siobhan x

Andrea & Rod's Intimate Garden Wedding...

We have a very special treat for you today! A wedding that we've been so excited for since first being asked to take their photos, and we're soooo glad they chose us! The fabulous Andrea & Rod chose to get married in their own back garden, which had been beautifully decorated and adorned with cute and quirky details.

Photographing this wedding felt like having an invite to an intimate family gathering, and family was definitely the word of the day. Andrea & Rod felt very strongly that their wedding be not only about them as a couple, but as a family of three along with Andrea's daughter Aila.

We had such a fun time and we completely love the resulting images! This couple's style totally shines through, and we are especially impressed with the jewellery, a lot of which was made by Andrea herself who is a talented jeweller! <3

As you can see, this was such a unique and wonderful day full of fun and warmth! I think that this was in part due to the fact that it was so kid-friendly! We had a fantastic time with all these little guys. We'd especially like to thank our second shooter Chrissie for being so great at chasing them around and capturing cute moments!

It was so nice to be part of a wedding with such a relaxed atmosphere. Our favourite part was the non-traditional cake "cutting", where Andrea, Rod & Aila grabbed a spoon and just dug in! We know you've all thought about doing that at some point! ;)

We're so happy for this beautiful family and pleased to have had the privilege of sharing it with them, this one will stay with us for a very long time!

A day to remember...With Mr & Mrs Ormond!

Hello.

This may prove to be a task... how to sum up such a beautiful and eventful day?! This was a test of our skills - dotting around various part of Dundee in the gail force winds. On this day, two wonderful young people tied the knot. Fortunately for me, this particular couple in question, are also my friends.

Believe me when I tell you, Lauren (My assistant/editor) had a tough time, as Kirsty and I took so many photos.  The details were just everywhere, beautifully displayed in every nuek and cranny of their wedding. We started off in Jenni's family home. This was a bit of a unique day as it was my birthday, and I was greeted with happy birthday and beautiful gifts from various members of the family.  It was just overwhelming! Okay, take the limelight off me!!! Great start of the day... Jenni with her hair in curlers, is truly one of the most beautiful sights you'll (n)ever see! Beautiful. The whole Downie family have a special place in my very own heart.

Kirsty & I ventured upstairs to photograph the details, including the dress and the shoes. Jenni, being Jenni, I expected what I saw... A stunning lace detailed gown, which presumably was hand-crafted by fairies for Jenni ONLY! And... flip flops obviously, for such a down to earth person!

The day took a slight change, with gailforce winds for the ceremony down at Magdalen green (a very special place to Jenni & Stuart). Somewhere else would never have sufficed. I must say, Jenni had an incredibly long veil on, and the fear that she may lift-off and float away, felt like a possibility! haha! The ceremony was pushed back slightly to help re-arrange some of the plans. The drinks reception was moved to the Downie family's home garden (as opposed to a blustery windswept marquee on the Green).

Never mind that they are a beautiful inside, they are also INCREDIBLY photogenic outside too! We visited Strawberry Bank (a VERY small quant cobble-stoned lane) for some of the couple shots. Even though i thought the road was too small to fit a car down while we were shooting - down one came
- 'GAME OFF'

'GAME ON' we continue, they looked at each other with so much love it made for the easiest of photography work. We were on a tight schedule, as we had a bus waiting for them. 'To the Taypark House please driver!'

Taypark House is somewhere I have been hoping to be for quite some time, so I was so excited to be going there. As we were running slightly behind it meant for us photographers, we would have to squeeze the formals in a bit less time than we'd expected to have... but between us pro's and this supermodeling family, we smashed it! Creating some of my FAVOURITE formals to date!

The details, gardens & lighting was just a photographers dream (as Jenni knows well). It was a small bunch of close/immediate family for dinner. Creating a beautiful atmosphere filled with love! Even the details in this room were thought out so meticulously, they matched the rustic theme of the day! Uniquely, there were no formal speeches yet, just a short and sweet toast by Jenni's Dad (Stuarts now father-in-law). The speeches were to be held much later in the evening, and of course this meant nothing conventional for the Ormonds! Which we LOVE!

Goodbye Taypark, hello Chambers east! Who would of thought somewhere in the city centre could become such a light filled & atmospheric place! With all the massive blinds open, allowing in floods of light allowing Kirsty and I to create naturally lit images (My preference when possible). There were 5 o'clock guests, and 7.30 guests to arrive... this let us get caught up on all the amazing details around the 4th and last venue of the day! The speeches were amazing - heartfelt, funny and adorable. One of the speeches was given by one of the 'mini best men'! There was a £50 prize for the best speech - guess who won between 'mini best man & full sized best man? They were both lovely though!

During Stuart's speech, I was snapping away, popping photos at all angles... when I was shocked to hear my name! I was kindly thanked from the newlyweds and gifted frankly the tastiest birthday present! (see image of giant birthday cookie below!) Obviously a hug and a tear happened as I was so grateful to be there, never mind receiving a giant birthday cookie with kind and beautiful words!

Although these small words could never truly portray what an amazingly unique, wonderful, special and heart-warming day this was... I hope this can give a small insight into the thoughts and best wishes from my perspective, as Jenni & Stuart Ormond's wedding photographer, and friend.

A special thanks to;
Kirsty Brown - second shooter
Lauren Carr - studio manager
The whole Downie family (especially Auntie Lynne & Sarah)
Stuart & Jenni - for being you!
The evening reception guests that sang me happy birthday once I had finished! <3

Thank you for ALL the birthday love I received at this wedding too, strangely photographing this wedding was a great birthday present!

I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

A Tale as Old as Time ... Laura & Sean Green

Where do you begin telling the story of a day that was so close to my own heart?  Well here's trying...

Laura and I met in high school, through our mutual love of loud music and colourful hair. The stories we have together are never ending... and from about 11 years of friendship, I knew that the next day was going to be the most amazing, hard and emotional day I have ever had the pleasure of working. So many times as Laura and I chatted about her wedding day I would burst out crying (tears of excitement, obviously) maybe because my heart is made from marshmallows - I don’t know! haha
But it’s been such an honour to have such an involved part in making their wedding day. Here is a small visual snippet of my version of events...

2016-07-27_0005.jpg

Usually I don't see SUCH an early start on someone wedding day, but considering this wedding was a bit different to my usual there was rather a lot of unusual practices! I actually travelled up to the venue with Laura (I will use your real name for the benefit of others, even though I have called you Lola since you were about 13, haha!) the day BEFORE the wedding. I helped stick things on to the favours and re-arrange the room with the soon to be married pair.

After this we rushed off to our well deserved spa day. It all began to sink in. Due to having such a high level of details, for the past several months we had met up for coffee and chatted about the day that was actually happening tomorrow. My heart was just overwhelmed with excitement, and for her to be marrying such an amazing person (Sean) I just couldn't have been happier for them both.

In the morning I was amazed to see a wedding from this perspective. Even though we were up and awake in the bridal party room from 7am (probably went to sleep about 1am - after Abi, Gemma and I’s gift giving and word sharing) Still time was not on our side, I understand now how this often occurrence happens!

It wouldn't have been a wedding morning without a few hiccups, like for example a bee flying into the room? or no scissors to cut tags off? Or the chains being too short on the necklaces for the bridesmaids - just a select few! But it all adds to the adrenaline of the day and makes for great photographs- the bride running around in her jammies trying to defend herself from a bee with the hotel pillow!

Did I forget to mention so many of my friends were also involved in the day? Jillian Elizabeth Make-up Artistry rocked up at the crack of dawn to make everyone beautiful… Her amazing airbrush make up sat on Laura’s skin flawlessly. I appreciate her even more now realising how early she has to get up to make people beautiful on their wedding day; Working around everyone to make sure they are happy, relaxed -  and she even gifted everyone a magical bag of everything you need to stay looking good throughout the day (Kirby grips, safety pins etc.) How considerate!

She gave Abi & Gemma magical fishtail side braids, they looked rockin’! And gave Laura a luscious head of voluminous curls. By this time everyone started to look great, then the little ones rocked in for their waterfall braids by Jillian. These two are the cutest little devils you’ll ever see!
Also, Tom Barbour was kitted out in an attire of tartan, piping them throughout their day!

As the clock was ticking it became a mad rush to get dressed and remember to breathe. Due to general bridal prep shenanigans we were now against the clock and already running late - I made a few phone calls to Sean to reassure him his bride was STILL coming. Eventually we were en-route!

Solsgirth was about a 20 minute drive away, so I followed them in the super awesome VW Campervan for her final journey as an unmarried woman.
I met up with the second shooter (and also great pal) Kirsty who was photographing the boys in the morning, then it was a crazy dash to the alter.

I got in position and I was just trying to remember to breathe… As the beautiful bridesmaids walked in with their heads held high (thanks girls) I felt a great rush of emotion. Before I knew it, I had succumbed to being a sobbing photographer. The guests who may have not known I knew the couple personally must have thought I was somewhat mad! Albeit I was a professional sobbing mess as Laura stepped in. I asked Sean not to turn around until the last minute to capture the moment that she walked in, before he saw her (it’s one my favourite shots!) As her brother walked her down the isle. This was it. It was time.

Laura by this time was very emotional too (which makes for GREAT photos!) and the moment they looked at each other was a moment I’ll never forget. As a friend all you want is for them to be happy, safe & healthy and in the moment I could see they both really were. I brushed away the tears through each shot and watched them say the sweetest words to each other. And then, after the years of planning, there it was. In walked two people and out walked a husband and wife.

So it was time to get the party started! I was so grateful for the closeness I had to them as they really appreciated my job and what I need to do to get them great images. We photographed the massive group shots and then formals, and then snuck away for some breathing time and couple shots. Maybe I am biased but these are just too beautiful!? Being super cool, it was about showing themselves as they are in the pictures. Tattoos, sunglasses and converse!

2016-07-27_0007.jpg

It’s the little things too… Walking into the dining room at Solgirth was absolutely breathtaking. You can truly see that years of went planning into it, full of special touches in a room of beautiful light.

Okay so I may have had a surprise up my sleeve planned many months ago. Sean and I planned I would do a short speech, without the bride's knowledge!
This made me sick with nerves- my hands shook; the sweat started pouring down my face- I felt like I was going to keel over! I popped the camera down to my side and took the mic. The fear kicked in when I looked over at Laura and her face looking sooo confused and she said ‘’ What are you doing??’’
I thought ‘Oh well, here goes!’’ And my 2 minute long speech felt like 2 hours. I used to think when best men never lifted their heads during speeches it was because they never thought to... - never because it was physically impossible out of fear! I couldn’t make eye contact, I had no idea if anyone could hear me- but I just did it… I said the words I wanted to say to the person who has meant so much to me for such a long time. And I told the man whom she has chosen to spend her life with how much I appreciated him making her happy! and then as quick as it started it was done. Phew! OVER! Back to work, away from the limelight!

The speeches carried on beautifully, the best man Kean said some really special words, with giggles but mainly heartfelt words to his best friend and his new wife. Sean’s words were so touching, not leaving anyone unthanked including myself. When he spoke about how they were grateful for my help etc. my heart burst, tears flowed again, it was just truly overwhelming!

Okay break-time. I couldn't help myself, I had brought the laptop and started viewing the images from the day so far! I was ecstatic and we were only half way there!

There was another surprise though. Something that I knew was going to be particularly special. Sean told me that Laura's grandparents were coming (they were unable to make it early due to ill health) something that I knew would be such a massive deal to Laura. We knew they were arriving soon, so I stood out waiting trying to be busy but not be so distracted that I'd miss them arriving- One eye in the lens the other on the road! It was a challenge keeping Laura out of the loop as we pulled her through the side door and surprise!!! Again, emotions were all too much! It was amazing for everyone seeing how happy this made her.

A small gift at the end of the day, was waiting in their room!

Music from my partner and friend Gavin McGinty & Stella Reilly who sang until the wee hours informally. A special performance just for Mrs & Mr Green. They danced their first dance to one of my favourite songs - ‘It Takes Two’ - By Ryan Adams (which was very fitting) and and encored with ‘A Tale as Old as Time’ - Beauty and the Beast performed magically by Gavin & Stella. The soundtrack to the rest of the night was sung by the 'ear-pleasing' pair, specially tailored to suit the newly weds. Both original songs by the singer/song-writers requested by Sean and Lola and also beautiful, fun and unique covers.

We set off again for more/final couple shots, eagerly requested by the bonnie couple. This was me in my element. I love when couples have fun with this part! As mine and Kirsty’s work came to an end it was time to put the camera down and get busting some moves. Kirsty went home and I skipped up to mine and Gavin’s beautiful suite knowing that I had done a great job! Got my make up on and my bonnie brown boots and danced until the VERY wee hours.

And they lived happily ever after…

Special thank you to

Katie & Paul are Getting Married!

This lovely pair tie the knot tomorrow! Oh my goodness it has come around so quickly! I had the pleasure of photographing Katie and Paul for their pre-wedding shoot back in May and I must say- what an absolutely adorable couple they are. As you can see in the photographs, their love for each other just shines through! I am so excited for your wedding you two, it's going to be a blast!

Louise & Andrew's Wedding

I had the great privilege of photographing my friends Louise & Andrew's wonderful Great Gatsby themed wedding at the Invercarse Hotel, and it was a blast from start to finish! The weather was wonderful, which was a nice surprise as it had been torrential rain the day before and the heavens opened again the day after! So the sun shining brightly on this lovely couples' big day was even more special! There are so many lovely elements of this wedding that I loved, as you will see!

2016-07-01_0013.jpg

I adored all of Louse's little details and her dress is one of my favourites! Gorgeous champagne lace which looked absolutely stunning on her with a very pretty veil to match. Everything fitted in perfectly with the amazing Great Gatsby theme, which was tastefully done and consistent even down to the chandelier in the Invercarse which just complimented the vintage atmosphere perfectly!

2016-07-01_0004.jpg

One thing that I really enjoyed was the fact that it wasn't just Louise and Andrew's details that were themed, but the guests themselves also! It was so lovely to see everyone having fun with the Great Gatsby era look and it made the whole experience so classy and authentic. You all rocked it, guys!

I would just like to say that it was a complete honour and privilege to photograph this wonderful couple. What made it even more special was the fact that these two amazing people are my friends and seeing them tie the knot was an incredible experience! Huge congratulations Louise and Andrew, you did great!

Alex & Liam's Story...

What a beauty of a day! This was a photographers dream! Beautiful weather, beautiful wedding & beautiful people! The day began with bridal and groom prep. Kirsty ventured off to see the boys and I had the pleasure of photographing these beauties below! As soon as I saw the stunning flowers my jaw just about hit the floor, I am just so in love with them! The pretty pastel colours, the arrangement, just everything about them screams "Wow!"- Well done 'Stucio & Waow' www.Waow.co.uk

The girls were just amazing, so lovely and elegant like they had stepped right out of a pinterest board, haha! Boys you did very well too! I think I would struggle to find a picture of Liam without a big grin on his face, but I guess you would be smiling too if this was your wedding day.

2016-04-14_0009.jpg

Just look at Alex's hair! Oh, I could write a book on how much I loved it, and what I was even more happy to see was a familiar face working her magic, making everyones locks look so lovely! Kim Kelly you outdid yourself!
The make-up by Nichola Bell at Beautibelle was as much a great match. The girls looked just beautiful! Gillian, the humanist celebrant was so accommodating: letting me sneak, duck and dive in and out to get great shots! I love the gardens at the Double Tree, there are so many spaces and little nooks to sneak off to for beautiful picturesque images.

I'd like to add that the speeches were just so funny and heartwarming, with more than a few tear-jerking moments. I'd like to give a huge shout out to Anneka (Maid of honour) It's nice to see a wedding that bucks the norm a bit and having the Maid of Honour doing a speech was great! (Girl power!) It was emotional and funny, Anneka you nailed it! As always some cheeky words from the boys too.

Overall from morning to night, it was such a wonderful day! I especially LOVE photographing in the conservatory on an overcast/sunny day as it just gives the most perfect natural light! I must say it was truly a challenge to select only a few images for this blog as there was so many great ones to choose from (If I do say so myself, haha!) I would imagine it was mostly down to how darn good-lookin' the wedding was ;)
It was a honour and a pleasure to be a part of this spectacular day! and I wish all the love and happiness in the world to Mr & Mrs Tinney!

Merry Wedding to Lois & John...

Unorthodox, quirky & and just so special, just adored this day... felt like Christmas wrapped up in a wedding (which it was basically)

2016-01-12_0001.jpg

Started with a stress-free morning, with hair and make-up by the ever so talented Jill Sime for the bride, the man-of-honour skipped his lippy! Aria their beautiful daughter was smiling and laughing all morning, which made for such a pleasant start!

Jenni & I popped off to take some pictures of Lois's dress altered by a relative, which I thought was super cute! And this girl has her head screwed on, sparkly sketchers, I swear she has started a trend!!!

The ceremony was utterly perfect, with a lovely traditional hand-tying popped in... I love symbolic things like this, I usually shed a wee tear into my lens around this point!

Was so excited has set up for some picture in-front of the big Christmas tree in the city centre although we had to switch sides due to a million carollers and a bit of rain...

Brollies up and the pair got right stuck into some beautiful couple shots, with the sparkly light of the festivities behind...We quickly headed back up to the preparation venue for a very special Christmas dinner, the tables were set with amazing Christmas dinner decor, great idea...

We let everyone get tucked into their wedding/Christmas dinner, then returned to a very merry bunch, I laughed behind my camera at the speeches, was grand! Usually I would only be half way through my day at this point, actually as a family, they choose to have an early night after a more than perfect day, which got me home for tea-time (That was certainly a first!)

Thank you so much, Mr & Mrs MacGillivray!
Hope you and your family enjoy a lifetime of merriness!

Love from Siobhan & Jenni!

Beth & Jim's Story...

Where do you start? To blog about a day like this day is such a difficult thing to do...
Everything from the amazing orange dresses to glorious Marquee in the garden.

I do believe the little kimonos have been handmade, I also believe there might have been a pin left in one (oops!) They just look utterly adorable, and I feel like this wedding may have had a good looking' policy because everyone is soo beautiful! At this point America's Next Top Modelling tips were coming in handy, the girls were modelling 'H2T' haha!

This wedding was also even more special as it was in my hometown, and there was familiar faces popping up everywhere, which just made me smile all day!

These beautiful faces have been painted by local make-up artist Annie Voigt Here is a link to Annie's Facebook page www.facebook.com/Annievoigtmakeup

The hair is fitting to each with there own individual hair style I loved that ALOT!
Find Gillian here www.facebook.com/Hopehairbeauty

Beth being full of beans and full of emotions her preparations was truly tear jerking. There was so much to photograph and I tried very hard not to buckle crying whilst photographing Beth's dad's first look at her in the dress, Ian (Beth's Dad) the cheeky chappy that he is, was overwhelmed it was adorable to photograph. The image isn't in the blog as it's too special but it had to be mentioned as it was ONE of my favourite parts!

The ceremony, the room, the paintings, the atmosphere, the laughing, the love, the sunshine coming through the windows. What more could be said, it was breath-takingly beautiful!

The hard part is done, now it's time to let your hair loose or so to speak I don't think Gillian from 'Hope Hair & Beauty' would want you to let your kirbies out just yet! Yeah, obvious no ordinary minibus would do for these two, regular busses are just not orange enough!

Yup just look at the cake... Admire it. Made from obviously the best cheese! Patti (Beth's Mum) & owner of Smithies Deli www.smithiesdeli.co.uk was obviously the dab hand in this beauty!

Found this little polaroid in the corner as everyone was very merry at this point what could be more fun than 'Photoboothin'? Nothing obviously!

A few guest chose to re-tell there fishing stories on the dance floor these total groovers caught fish that were "THIIIIIIISSSS BIIIIGGGG"

After being there from morning till night, it was time to go home, not before nabbing some more drunk/happy 'lads' shots and slow shutters of the beautiful house. We were spoiled with a hot chocolate from my former 1st & 2nd years science teacher Mr. Rodger (Don't know his first name) hahaha

Hire him for EVERYTHING you ever do form now on, was super cool check it out www.alcappuccino.co.uk

I have to say a very big thank you to everyone as it was an enjoyable day, with great food, drink music & everything else. Well done and congratulations

A Quick Guide to Engagement Sessions

So you've probably heard the term "engagement shoot", or "pre-wedding shoot" bandied about, and perhaps you even have one coming up! But what exactly does it entail? How should you prepare, and what happens after? Here is a quick guide to all things to all things engagement session to clear up some of the questions you might have.

First, Relax…

First of all, don’t be nervous! Or try not to be at least! It will just be the both of you, and the leading lady herself Siobhan, who you will have met by then and realised that she doesn’t bite! Siobhan won’t make you do anything that you aren’t comfortable with, and the end goal is a collection of photographs that reflects you and your husband/wife-to-be's relationship together, so if big cheesy grins aren’t your thing, we won’t force you!

Where will we go?

Pick somewhere pretty! Perhaps you have a lovely park or a building nearby that holds special meaning for you two as a couple? Even if you don’t, we can suggest a variety of picturesque places for you to choose from.

The Dress Code…

Dress for your own comfort. Don’t feel the need to dress up fancily if you don’t want to. If you can, try to avoid loud prints or overly bright colours, as a more muted, neutral palette will look best in photographs. Try to dress complimentary, but not matching, with your partner. Accessories can add depth and interest, so if you feel like it, add something like a scarf to bring your look together. Head on over to our gallery for some inspiration if needed!

So, will we be posing?

It’s more like we will be bringing out the “natural" you! We will try a variety of things. Sometimes Siobhan might be off hiding in a bush somewhere whilst you two chat on a bench! She will give you little pointers and tell you what looks nice, and if you have any ideas or sudden inspiration during the shoot we can try it!

Can we bring our child or dog?

This is again really up to you, we would never say “no”, but we encourage you to think to yourself “Am I going to be distracted?”. At the end of the day the engagement shoot is a celebration of the both of you as a couple, capturing a romantic moment between you. Although we must say, a dog walk can make for some seriously adorable photos!

What happens after?

We will upload a private gallery of edited photographs with a password to let you in. From there you are free to download your resized (for sharing on social media) images with a watermark- don’t worry, the watermark is just our logo, discreetly in a corner of the photo. You will also have the option to purchase full sized images but are under no obligation to!

We hope you are feeling a little more prepared, remember if you have any questions to just ask, and remember that it’s supposed to be fun! So enjoy yourselves, no stress required!

Sun, rain, laughter & wedding rings... Beth & Jim!

Yeah I know what you are thinking! No they aren't models :P Although you'd think they were pros! hahaha...

Beth & Jim got in tough over a year ago to book me to be their wedding photographers, and knowing Beth from my hometown of Arbroath i jumped at the chance! Even though it had been years and years since I had seen Beth it was like just yesterday! After moving to London with Jim - the lucky groom to be and setting up life so very far away from Dundee planning has been long distance bUT not to fear the fabulous Mother of the bride should be hired by anyone planning a wedding! So organised, it's amazing!

This beautiful couple are the definition of in love, you only need to be around them for 5 minutes to see that! I said to Jim on our shoot ''Your voice is like someone I know'' I racked my brains meanwhile Jim knew exactly whom I was about to compare him to repeating it in my head, I stood for a minute with that puzzled look on my face going through in my head the names of people it could possibly be, only to realise ''It's not someone I know personally, IT'S KEVIN BRIDGES!!!'' Feeling relieved I had figured it out, I looked at Jim with that face that says your not the first person to have said that, ''I get it all the time! You sound like Kevin Bridges!''

The rain started to fall heavier not to fear! I have an idea, I was really excited to get shots of the rain lit up behind them, Although the rain wasn't heavy enough for this to be as dramatic as hope it was a safe amount of rainfall to get good shots and NOT to make my equipment float away.

I won't give much away but the plans for this wedding are so exciting, and rain or shine every minute is clearly going to be amazing! I literally am too excited about photographing this wedding day, you would think  was a child waiting for Christmas...
